A rawkin' night in Penicuik
30/10/2005Last night was a stormin' (I use this word too often!) night of rock in Penicuik Town Hall. Sunday Roast kicked off the evening with a selection of covers from the 90's as well as current material from the likes of KT Tunstall. The crowd seemed into it from the off, with dancing ensuing for many of the tracks. We followed Sunday Roast at about 10.15pm, opening with our usual - Jailbreak! The full setlist is here. We played most of the classics, and also got recognition for The Baker Gurvtiz number - Hearts On Fire!! Penicuik definately knows their rock! Big thanks to Gary, Mike and Sunday Roast. Hope we can get back in Penicuik soon.
Penicuik details confirmed & audio added
17/10/2005Saturday 29th October, 7.30pm in Penicuik Town Hall will be 'A Night of Classic Rock' featuring ourselves and Sunday Roast, tickets £5 - available from The Old Crown Inn & Figurehead Hairdressing in Penicuik, from ourselves and no doubt on the door. Gigs in the pipeline include appearances at The Three Tuns, and The Standing Order. Dates and times confirmed when we get 'em. Check out our audio & video page for a selection of tunes recorded recently at the Eastgate.
Live audio & site update
03/10/2005A very cool Saturday night at Eastgate! Floozie Soo were awesome with a nice blend of blues and jazz, and a combination of upbeat and reflective songs. Since the last time we heard them they've added keyboards to drums, acoustic guitar, clarinet and trumpet! We followed them with a set of all our most recent songs and some we haven't performed for a while, including 'Do Anything You Want To' segued into 'Don't Believe A Word'. We recorded the entire show, so hopefully some tracks and also photos will appear here soon. You'll notice some slight changes to site, these should make navigation, finding gigs, and just general usability easier. Please report any problems using the contacts page.

Dates added
18/08/2005Just added more gigs at the Eastgate, a mixture of open mic nights where we play our usual resident slots, and another special show with ourselves supported by Floosie Soo, a funky jazz 3-piece, and another band to be confirmed. We are also in the process of investigating playing some gigs in the Edinburgh area so check the upcoming gigs page for dates/venues. Our last gig at Eastgate was interesting! Having given ourselves a nice long load-in, setup and soundcheck time we were plagued with equipment problems and ended up a tad(!) rushed to get any soundcheck in. Turned out a good evening though with lots of positive comments from people, and hopefully a video of the show soon.

Definately an evening not to be missed ;-)

This is to prevent people pinching photographs and content from this website without permission. In most cases either Rab, or myself would be more than willing to provide higher quality original photographs if asked. Look out for more dates added to the upcoming gigs page soon!
What a night!
13/02/2005A fantastic night was had by all at the Eastgate. Despite our worries about not being able to roll away the tiered seating, which is what we normally do, the audience seemed to appreciate the seats and a better view of our ugly mugs! At a first estimate approximately 130 tickets were sold:-0 Rock Goblet opened the show and entertained with a set including their own songs (CD now available) and some Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Iron Maiden. After a brief interval we played an extended set including new tracks Badge and The Needle And The Spoon. Highlight was playing All Right Now as a final encore song, joined by all the members of Rock Goblet. Thanks to everyone, especially Kirsty, Alex, Rab, Euan and Lucy. As usual pics will follow shortly.
Rock double header at Eastgate
04/02/2005Looking forward to what should be a stormin' night of rock! Rock Goblet will kick the evening off with their own unique style of rockin' ;-) There will be a short break and then we will take to the stage and play an extended set of rock classics. Look out for some new songs! Anyway the show starts at 7.30pm, Sat 12th Feb, tickets £4. For more info click here. Tickets can be booked in advance from the Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre Box Office on 01721 725777.
